This interactive short story booklet told by Drew Matthews, a 9th grade Special Education student, along with his two friends was designed to help students understand the Individual Education Progam (IEP) process, while taking a more active role in their education. It covers important definitions applicable to Special Education Programs such as The IEP, No Child Left Behind (NCLB), Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), the transition process, accommodations and modifications, and several other key acronyms and concepts.
Students can have fun learning critical details about their IEP and adult transition by acting out various roles in the classroom. We’re all in this together and our impact as a team can change lives.
