Dr. Angelise M. Rouse is an education writer and passionate advocate for special education, dedicated to creating meaningful and empowering educational experiences for students with disabilities. Her research focuses on developing learning opportunities in special education classrooms and how these opportunities are negotiated differently by various student groups. Her future research interests include the overrepresentation of minorities in special education and the social and emotional development of Black and Brown students. With extensive publications on critical educational issues, her diverse career spans roles as a charter and public school teacher, school administrator, and college faculty member, covering all levels of education from middle school to college. Dr. Rouse holds Master’s degrees in Organizational Management and Special Education, as well as a Ph.D. in Special Education Leadership.

 

Dr. Rouse has authored several books promoting positive representation, self-advocacy, and practical guidance. She believes that everyone has unique and captivating stories that bring substance and credence to our experiences, fostering change. She advocates for educators to position themselves to make positive changes in educating all students at new levels.
